Citizen Tv anchor Lilian Muli starts farming side hustle

Popular Citizen Tv anchor Lilian Muli has caught the farming bug. Ms. Muli has revealed that she is running a farming venture from her family farm.

Ms. Muli is now selling oranges from her family farm known as Manora Farm which is based in Machakos County. Already, the popular news presenter has reaped a bumper harvest in the farm’s current season.

“Our family farm has an orchard where we sell fruits commercially and on a large scale – bananas, mangoes, oranges depending on which fruit is in season and we also have a dairy farm,” she told a local online news site.

She says that she has priced her oranges lower than the current market prices. Ms. Muli has been using her social media channels such as Instagram to market the produce.

“Due to the fair prices, people were ordering in bulk, sacks on sacks that I even contracted some riders to fulfill orders to different parts of the city,” she said.

Ms. Muli also said that she is working towards scaling up her new farming venture due to the high orders the venture has generated. “I am looking how I can scale up the business on my end and plan for it because there is money here,” she said, adding that young people especially, should not look down upon farming as it can provide income when done well. “People were saying that I am hawking oranges, and I very proud of that, so do not let anyone make your hustle look little if that’s where the money is coming from,” the Citizen Tv anchor said.
