Georgiana Sande is the CEO and founder of Orio Limited, a Kenyan-based leading technology-enabled energy company that provides reliable and eco-friendly energy solutions to homes and businesses.

Founded in August 2023, Orio Limited has not only stepped in to solve the challenge of pollution in the country but also provides an efficient greener energy alternative to traditional fuels such as charcoal.

The firm uses eco-friendly materials such as sawdust, coffee husks, rice husks, bagasse, tobacco dust, and hay to manufacture briquettes, ensuring a reliable and eco-friendly energy solution.

According to Georgiana, the briquettes can be used for household cooking, industrial use, or heating applications.

Unlike Charcoal, Orio’s briquettes provide a consistent and long-lasting energy source and produce low smoke, making them safe for indoor use.

Orio Limited currently operates online, but it is set to open a physical store soon to expand its customer reach. Moreover, its products have varying prices depending on the quantities and preferences of clients.

”I believe in the power of clean energy to change the world. Our briquettes are not just products; they’re a commitment to a greener, healthier planet,’’ adds Georgiana.

Through her innovations, the bold businesswoman who is passionate about developing creative solutions to make a difference has created job opportunities and improved the livelihoods of hundreds of Kenyans.

In addition to Orio Limited, Georgiana owns GianArts and Crafts Limited, an arts and crafts firm that produces handcrafted items for beautification, accessorizing, and interior design.

Founded in 2022, GianArts and Crafts Limited uses materials like leather, glass, rubber, concrete, metal, and wood to make high-quality, elegant art and craft pieces for its customers.

”By purchasing from us, customers can own one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect their style and personality. With our handcrafted items, customers can add a touch of creativity and elegance to their lives while supporting local artisans and craftsmen,’’ says Georgiana.

She added that the products are available online on all GianArts and Crafts Limited social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, under the handle @gianartsandcrafts.

With vast experience in entrepreneurship, Georgiana has plenty of advice for other entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs intending to venture into various sectors.

She highly discouraged business people from partnering with individuals who cannot bring tangible benefits to a business.

In addition, she advocated for entrepreneurs to get a lawyer before implementing any idea and have bigger plans for the business.

”Operate like a global brand from the word go should that be your aim,’’ she says.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration from the United States International University (USiU- Africa).
