Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu recently appointed new Vice Chancellors (VCs)for public universities as the tenures of the serving VCs have expired.
The CS made the announcement a few months after the Public Service Commission (PSC) advertised vacancies in the respective institutions as the term of previous university bosses came to an end.
These 13 new VCs will be responsible for the general development projects of the respective institutions.
Students to pay over Sh100K for a degree program at Open University of Kenya
The newly appointed VCs are:
- Prof. Joyce Jepkirui Agali – Machakos University
- Prof. Benedict Mwavu Mutua – Technical University of Kenya ( TUK)
- Prof. Peter K Muriuungi – Tharaka University
- Prof. James H P Kahindi – Pwani University
- Prof. Linus Muthuri Gitonga – Karatina University
- Prof. Nathan Oyori Ogechi – Kisii University
- Prof. Douglas Shitanda – South Eastern Kenya University
- Prof. Thomas Kimeli Cheruiyot – University of Eldoret (UoE)
- Prof. Emily Achieng Akumo – Jaramogi University of Science and Technology (JKUAT)
- Prof. Charles Omondi – Tom Mboya University
- Prof. Eric Kipyegon Koech – University of Kabianga
