Details have emerged on how Nairobi Hospital finance boss Erick Maigo met his brutal death.

This follows a postmortem that was conducted on his body on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Lee Funeral Home.

The postmortem was conducted by government pathologist Johansen Oduor.

According to Dr. Oduor, Maigo was stabbed 25 times, unlike the sixteen times that was initially reported by the first responders. The stabbings were on his chest, neck and face.

“He was stabbed 25 times on the chest, neck and face and what killed him was external and internal bleeding,” Dr. Oduor said.

Dr. Oduor detailed that Maigo may not have fought back the stabbings since there were no cuts on his hands. This might also indicate that perhaps the first stab was so lethal he had no chance of fighting back.

Maigo was found lying dead in a pool of blood in his bedroom, next to his bed, where it is suspected the murder happened.

Police are currently pursuing a mysterious woman who is the prime suspect in the murder. The woman is said to have spent the night at Maigo’s house.

The murder was confirmed by Kilimani police boss Moss Ndiwa. Neighbors at the Woodley Annex apartment reported that they heard Maigo groaning loudly in pain.

They said that upon knocking on his door, they were confronted by a woman who claimed that all was well and that she was looking for the keys to open the door. She then refused to open the door as sounds of Maigo groaning persisted.

They then rushed to Kibra Police Station where they made a report. However, by the time the police arrived on the scene, the woman was gone and Maigo was lying dead in a pool of blood.
