Kofi Asiedu, a Ghanaian international working in Germany as a dishwasher revealed that he earns a monthly salary of Sh. 237,000.
He also shed light on what a normal day in his job looks like.
Speaking in an interview with Youtuber Zionfelix at his workplace, Kofi Asiedu said that he works eight hours daily for five days a week. Each hour, his work pays him a minimum of Sh. 1607.
For many, the bulk of the money he earns would seem like easy money. He however said that being a dishwasher is a very demanding job, requiring a lot of skill and attention.
He has to stand for close to 8 hours washing dishes. He only gets 10 to 20-minute breaks in between.
“So you stand on your feet and work for eight hours. You can only go for a food break for 10 to 20 minutes,” he remarked.
“Here you can’t be working and also long other things like logging on social media to follow on what is going on because your boss won’t allow that,” he explained.
Kofi Asiedu also advised local relatives of people living abroad not to squander money sent to them from abroad, just because they think there’s plenty more or it’s cheap cash.
