DT Dobie has introduced the Volkswagen Transporter T5 Ambulance to the Kenya market making them available from the Company’s showroom on Lusaka Road in Nairobi and the branches in Kisumu, Nakuru and Mombasa.
Volkswagen ambulance buyers have the peace of mind which comes from owning a German designed and engineered vehicle which is backed by after sales service from DT Dobie. This is carried out by the Company’s trained engineers and technicians who work in state of the art facilities with an extensive range of spares.
Usha Nagpal, the DT Dobie General Sales Manager for Volkswagen and GWM Wingle 5 explained, “To meet the expansion of medical services in Kenya, there is a growing demand for ambulances with the aim of providing patients with first aid and care on the way to hospitals.”
“The interior of the Volkswagen T5 ambulance is big enough to accommodate two paramedics and a stretcher for the patient. They have been built with high roof which provide sufficient height for standing and plenty of space for first aiders to attend to a patient.”
“These ambulances have turbo diesel engines and 4motion four-wheel drive to cope with secondary roads and tracks. They have a six speed manual transmission and a hydraulic braking system. Equipment includes daytime running lights permanently switched on during driving and a warning buzzer.”
The Volkswagen T5 is the fifth version of the Transporter range and is a commercial workhorse available in over hundred combinations making it the perfect vehicle for medical transport. In 2008 it was awarded with a four star crash safety rating from the European New Car Assessment Programme.
