Kenyan comedian Eddie Butita is bubbling with excitement after he opened his studying account at the United States International University.

He is returning to school after a 12-year gap since completing his KCSE exams, marking the start of a new chapter in his life. Behind the smiles and laughter lies a journey of overcoming obstacles that spanned over a decade.

Butita took to his official Instagram handle to share the news. He revealed that his family’s financial struggles and life’s responsibilities forced him to delay his campus studies.

“Back to school, it has taken me 12 years to get to university. Wueeh poverty is a bad thing, you know what? I’m happy and my family is happy,” he wrote.

Butita also extended credit to his father who served as his guiding light throughout his difficult journey. He thanked him for doing his best to educate him.

“Ata wewe unaona mambo ni magumu, jaribu jaribu tu. Mambo inaweza kuwa sawa Mungu afungue njia, na ikiwa sawa ata hiyo university utajipeleka siku moja,” Butita quoted him.

The actor, who doubles up as a businessman celebrated his admission to USIU courtesy of his steadfast perseverance.

“Kumbe siku moja ilikuwa ni leo. We are here to lay the last nail on poverty even if they ask for papers we shall provide,” he boldly stated.

Celebrating his 30th birthday last year, Butita acknowledged that people only rise by uplifting others. He added that he already laid a strong foundation in life and he was now on the verge of building upon it.

“Succeeding in life is a good thing, but succeeding and making others succeed is pure greatness. This decade is going to be a blessing to many because I am the great Eddie Butita,” he shared.
