Education Ministry announces 2024 form one placement results: How to check via phone

Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu has unveiled the results of the Form one placement, paving the way for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates to prepare to join the secondary schools they are slated to join in January 2024.

Speaking at Lenana School on Monday, December 18, Machogu said the placements were done based on candidate choices and other criteria.

The CS added that all 1.4 million candidates who sat the 2023 KCPE were placed in befitting secondary schools.

“Some students were placed in schools of equivalent standing outside their counties. This includes those from counties with inadequate capacity,” Machogu stated.

To access the results, Machogu advised candidates to visit the Ministry of Education portal: education.go.ke.

On the Ministry’s website, they will then search Form One placements. This will direct them to the Form One selection page, where they can access the placement results.

The results can also be accessed directly through the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS) portal-kemis.education.go.ke. Enter the student’s index number and name and click on search.

“I assure Kenyans that this website has been tested and proven and is 100% accurate. It is in operation,” Machogu said.

This year, at least 1,415,315 candidates sat for the KCPE exam which began on October 30, 2023, and completed on November 1.
