Chiloba’s decomposing body was found stashed in a metal box on the Kipenyo–Kaptinga road in Kapsaret constituency, Uasin Gishu County.

Uasin Gishu County Directorate of Criminal Investigations officer Peter Kimulwa said Odhiambo had arrived with Chiloba in Kimumu from Tamasha Club at 3pm.

He said there was a scuffle at the house that could have led to Chiloba’s death. “The man was seen by neighbours loading a metal box into a vehicle that was later found to contain the body,” Kimulwa said.

Detectives believe that Chiloba, whose real name is Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo, may have been murdered by Odhiambo with the help of two other accomplices.

According to Langas OCPD John Odhiambo, Chiloba and Odhiambo were living as a gay couple in Eldoret.

The late Chiloba’s caretaker said that Odhiambo called him using Chiloba’s phone on January 4th. He informed him that they were moving out. This was a day after Chiloba’s body had been found stashed in a metallic box.

On January 4th, Odhiambo was seen moving household items from their home. According to the caretaker, he had cleaned the house before moving household items out.
