On Saturday, a heated argument between 22-year-old Eileen Cherotich and her boyfriend tragically ended in a fatality.

Nakuru police officers at the scene of the incident have pieced together the moments leading to Eileen Cherotich’s tragic death.

Speaking of the incident, an officer attached to the investigations revealed that 3 people, including the vehicle’s owner, had been arrested the probe continued.

Preliminary information reveals that the deceased was in a vehicle with her boyfriend after returning from a party. They had an argument before she died under mysterious circumstances.

“The three were leaving a party. They were having a drinking spree at a certain spot in Nakuru. As they were going back, the deceased and his boyfriend had an argument inside the car,” the officer said.

The police further explained that they were yet to determine whether she was pushed out of the vehicle or she willingly jumped out on her own following the argument.

“All of a sudden, nobody knows what happened, the deceased was out of the vehicle. Whether she was thrown, whether she was jumped on her own, we have not yet established,” he added.

It has been alleged from various sources that the late Cherotich was a college student at the Rift Valley Institute of Science & Technology. Unofficial reports also state that her boyfriend was over twice as old as her, at 54 years. Authorities are yet to clarify.

“Right now we have the owner of the car and one of the girls who were in that vehicle.”

The 3 suspects have been remanded at the Nakuru West Police Station while Eileen’s body has been transferred to the Nakuru County Referral Hospital.

The Saturday incident was not the first occasion, as students at RVIST have continuously complained of multiple cases of girls being whisked away by older men, thus ruining their academic lives.
