The Kisumu edition of Safaricom Twaweza Live climaxed with electric performances yesterday at ASK Showground, Kisumu.

The live music concert had a lineup consisting of the legendary duo Gidi Gidi Maji Maji, Nameless, Musa Jakadala, Jah Bruno, Jua Cali, Willy Paul, Akothee, Mercy Masika and King Kaka. Young Kenyans looking to participate in the experience started arriving for the show dubbed Safaricom Twaweza Concert from as early as 8:00 am to a warm reception by the Blaze and Safaricom team.

The Kisumu edition had artists come up with creative performances hosted by famed hype masters Jalang’o, MC Alemba, and Twaweza local talent winner – MC Peace Chris, with comedic interludes by Njugush. The concert culminated with deejay performances by Kriss Darlin, Dj Joe Mfalme, Dj Deff and Dj Pscratch.

Some of the most notable performances were; King Kaka- bringing the best of his Kaka empire artistes, Timmy T Dat and Femi One to be part of his set, and Willy Paul’s grand entrance to the stage with a fleet of superbikes as his escort.

At the pods, which included Creative Arts, Agriculture, Film & Photography, Technology, Retail & Manufacturing, Music, and Fashion, the youth learned the first steps to engaging in a particular industry or launching a business.

They also had a chance to showcase their talent especially at the popular music and film pods where mentors J. Blessing and Enos Olik conducted mentorship sessions. Additionally, the youth got a chance to win handsome prizes and giveaways. The afternoon sessions were hosted by the multi-talented NRG Radio duo of Mwalimu Rachel and Timmy Tdat. Blazers were treated to motivational talks from previous BYOB winners including last season’s overall winner, Brian Rono and various mentors. The mentors shared success secrets in their career journey

The concert, which attracted over 18,000 people is the fourth edition of the Safaricom Twaweza Live concert following Eldoret, Meru and Mombasa. The series will proceed to Machakos and end in Nairobi.
