Ethiopian Airlines to acquire brand new Boeing 777X jets in fresh expansion drive

Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it will be acquiring the brand new Boeing 777X jets.

The new jets are expected to add to an already expansive fleet of planes that the airline is currently running as it seeks to entrench its dominance in the African airspace.

“We’re thrilled to announce our plans for fleet expansion with the acquisition of state-of-the-art 777X jets from Boeing,” the airline  stated.

“This move will enable us to provide unparalleled service and comfort to our passengers whereby demonstrating our dedication to staying at the forefront of aviation technology.”

According to Boeing, the commercial 777X will be the world’s largest and most efficient twin-engine jet, unmatched in every aspect of performance.

“With new breakthroughs in aerodynamics and engines, the 777X will deliver 10 percent lower fuel use and emissions and 10 per cent lower operating costs than the competition,” states Boeing.

“The 777X offers low-risk, profitable growth, industry-leading reliability and seamless integration with the 777 and 787 Dreamliner families for even more flexibility. But performance is just part of the story.
