The prime suspect in the brutal murder of Cathrine Nyokabi has confessed. Evans Karani has reportedly confesses killing Nyokabi and stashing her body at the back of her car. Apparently, Karani said that he resulted to the brutal act after getting jilted by Nyokabi, who was his girlfriend. The 38-year-old man is suspected of killing Nyokabi who was his girlfriend in Kimbo, Githurai, three days ago.
He was arrested after his car was found stuck in mud in Witeithie area, Juja with the body of Nyokabi, 25. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations said that Karani had been attempting to dump the body away when his car got stuck in mud on Bob Harris road in Juja. Karani fled the scene leaving the car with the body inside.

Passers by called the police after noticing that the vehicle had been abandoned. Detectives who came to the scene found Nyokabi’s body hidden inside and launched investigations. A hunt for Evans Karani was launched by a multi-agency team comprising police, DCI officers and the agency’s Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) officers. The search led the team to a rented house in Kimbo where Karani was arrested on Friday.
“The police said the suspect confessed to killing Nyokabi, a hotel worker in Kahawa Wendani, following a bitter conflict, which started two weeks ago, before the deceased jilted him. Karani, who is married, told police that the two had been dating for a while before the intense squabble that led to the loss of Nyokabi’s life,” a report in the media said.
