Kenya's Faith Kipyegon breaks her own 1500m world record in Paris

Faith Kipyegon has broken her own 1500m world record. Kipyegon broke her world record in the 1500m race during the Diamond League track and field meeting in Paris on Sunday.

She clocked a world record time of 3:49.04, which was an improvement of 0.07 seconds on her previous world record that she set in Florence in June 2023. Her previous record was of 3:49.11.

The record comes weeks before she competes in the 2024 Olympics Games that will also be held in France. During the games, Faith Kipyegon is expected to represent Kenya in the 1500m and 5000m races.

Australian Jessica Hull came second with the fifth fastest 1500m time in history clocking 3:50:83.
