A Kenyan living in the United States of America has boldly come out to share that he is returning to Kenya because the US has sucked life out of him.
The Kenyan, who identified as Benson, said that although he has led a highly successful life in America, held good jobs, and acquired houses and land in the US, he is returning home to escape the rat race.
According to him, the US has so many opportunities to make money and build wealth but has no space or capacity for the type of social and family life that he craves for and which is found in Kenya.
“I have been here since 2011. I have done many types of work. I have served in the US army for four years and was deployed to Afghanistan, I have worked in the corporate world, in fact, my last job was paying me $12,000 per month (Sh. 1.6 million) and on the side I have my own businesses,” he said.
“But ai have realized that I am wasting my time in America and I won’t do that anymore; I am going back home to Kenya.”
What you should expect when trying to move to USA using K1 and CR1 US visas
Benson said that he has realized that there’s more to life than making money. “It’s really not about the money because I have my own property and investments here,” he said.
“With all these investments and properties, I am never going to enjoy them because here it’s all about work. You wake up at dawn to work and retire at night. There’s no time for my kids and family.”
Benson noted that since he has been investing in real estate in the US, he intends to venture into property management in Kenya.
“Since I have Investments that can support the kind of family lifestyle I desire for, it doesn’t make sense for me to continue getting stuck in this rate race of work and no family or social life. It feels like slavery and I am done with it,” he said.
His confession has come as a shocker to thousands of Kenyans who line up at the US embassy in Nairobi to pay and interview for the coveted US visas.
