How DP Gachagua embarrassed Kenya infront of the whole world

Class can never be bought! This statement ringed true during the inauguration of Dr. William Ruto at Kasarani one year ago on September 13, 2022 when his deputy Rigathi Gachagua took to the podium.

After bungling his swearing in moment, DP Gachagua went ballistic on immediate former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

He shamed the former president over what he termed as his decision to unleash state agencies on him and the Kenya Kwanza brigade during his presidency.

List of things Ruto promised to achieve as president

During Gachagua’s speech, multiple leaders were caught looking away in embarrassment as Gachagua turned the inauguration into a bitter political rant against Mr. Kenyatta, oblivious of the heads of states from multiple countries and a delegation from the United States who were present.

Gachagua had claimed during his speech that he and President Ruto (who had served Mr. Kenyatta as the deputy president) were inheriting an economy that was in shambles.TThe economy, he alleged had been ruined by Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

“I want to tell the people of Kenya that today is a great day. Kenya is now a democratic country. It became a crime to be a friend of William Ruto. You are finally free (from Mr. Kenyatta),” Gachagua had said on that day.

“The truth of the matter is that we have inherited a dilapidated economy which almost facing shut down. we have a huge task to liberate this country and bring it back to where Kibaki left it,” he had alleged.

Gachagua added that he and Dr. Ruto had talked to the National Treasury and they had been told that Kenya was broke.

“We have talked to the treasury, and the coffers are empty. We will have to start from scratch,” he alleged. However, this claim was quickly dismantled by ecobomists who corrected that the National Treasury does not operate like a savings account where Kenya deposits money for future use.

One year down the line, DP Gachagua has continued to stick out as the most controversial figure in the Ruto presidency.
