Gakuyo puts properties on auction after going into hiding

Gakuyo’s Properties: Controversial preacher and real estate dealer David Ngari alias Gakuyo has reportedly placed his property on auction.

This comes shortly after a court of law was told that Mr. Gakuyo had gone into hiding.

Gakuyo’s Ekeza Offices at Yala Towers have also reportedly been shut down over what the landlord claims to be consistent disturbances by the aggrieved members of the Sacco who are seeking to recover their money.

According to an advert that has been circulating on social media, the property owned by Gakuyo is set to be sold through public auction by Leakey’s Auctioneers.

The properties on sale include prime land, houses and a quarry.

Bizna Kenya, though, had not reached Gakuyo at the time of publication.

Last week a Kiambu court was told that Gakuyo’s current whereabouts are unknown. He had also slipped away from his church after sacco members camped outside, demanding their savings.

The controversial preacher is reported to have fled after he sued his employees at Gakuyo Real Estate and Ekeza Sacco, which he owns.

“Lawyers Steve Kabucho and Benard Muriuki representing the employees said the four were sacked in October last year and police started investigating them. They have been reporting to the DCI every two weeks but efforts to have Kariuki appear have been futile,” said a report in a local daily.

Those arraigned before Kiambu senior resident magistrate Brian Khaemba are Wanjiku Muriithi, Kariuki Mwangi, Faith Njeri and Muthii Mwea. They were charged with fraud, procuring title deeds and obtaining registration by false pretense.
