Kanu leader Gideon Moi has lost the Baringo Senate seat to William Ruto’s party UDA, projections show.
Gideon was seeking to retain his seat for the third term in a row. He was facing off with William Cheptumo of the UDA party, and Felix Kiprono Chelaite of The Service Party.
Projections indicate that Moi managed about 31 per cent of the total votes cast. Cheptumo managed 67 per cent while Chelaite got 0.9 per cent.
Gideon Moi took over from his father the late President Daniel Toroitich arap Moi after being elected unopposed in the year 2002 for the Baringo Central Parliamentary seat.
