The Higher Education Loans Board has announced Sh. 450,000 postgraduate scholarships for learners pursuing either Masters or PHDs at Kenyan universities and colleges.
Scholarships to be awarded to Masters learners is Sh. 200,000 and is valid for 2 years. The scholarships for PHD learners is Sh. 450,000 and is valid for 3 years. All applicants will be required to cash a non-refundable fee to HELB for processing of the scholarship grant. This is to be done on the HELB web portal.
“Do not pay any individual to process your Postgraduate Scholarship Application,” read the statement in part.
The application is set to be closed on August 31st, 2022.
In order to be eligible for the HELB postgraduate scholarship, on needs to have a minimum undergraduate degree, Second-class honors, Upper Division. Further preferences will be given to applicants undertaking Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Innovation and Fisheries (STEM IF).
Applicants should show evidence of admission into a full time or art time Postgraduate University program.
How to apply
The application form is accessible from the Student Portal on registration.
Applicant is required to access, register and complete the Postgraduate Scholarship Application (PSGA)
When completed, click and submit the duly completed application, download and print the PSGA.
Proceed to have the PSGA signed and stamped by the relevant authorities and attach all necessary documents as indicated on the checklist.
Scan the PSGA and attached documents in PDF format.
