The number of internet service providers in Kenya is increasing day by day as demand for internet services soar.
The high network coverage has been helped by the high mobile penetration in the country with data from the Communication Authority of Kenya (CA) showing that mobile phone devices connected to mobile networks stood at 62.9 million as of 2023.
CA further states that the country has 1.5 million fixed data subscribers, with all of them relying on 10 main internet service providers (ISPs) for both home and business.
Major players in the sector are telecommunication giant Safaricom which holds the largest market share of around 36.4 percent followed by Jamii Telecommunications Ltd. (JTL) with around 24 percent and Wananchi Group (Zuku).
