Huawei has just launched the Huawei Mate 20 and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The Mate 20 pro is definitely miles ahead of its younger sister the Mate 10 Pro which packs some high-tech features like a dazzling design, 6GB RAM and 20 MP camera. Huawei’s latest smartphone is probably the most packed gadget in the world. From a three-camera system on the back to an in-display fingerprint and the powerful Kirin 980 chipset under the hood, the smartphone gives flagship devices like OPPO Find X, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and iPhone XS a run for their money.
“Consumer expectations are rising and in the race to bring the best Android smartphone to market, Huawei is leading the rapid development of technologies that help improve device performance to satisfy those needs. The HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro offers consumers a compelling combination of high performance, longer battery life, advanced security, and a greater photography and videography experience through its Leica Ultra-Wide Angle Lens camera. Powered by its own in-house designed Kirin 980 AI chip, this advanced chip is fabricated with leading 7nm process technology, packing 6.9 billion transistors into a form factor the size of a fingernail.” said Steven Li, Head of Eastern Africa Mobile.
Here are the top five Huawei Mate 20 Pro features that caught our attention.
The smartphone comes with a 6.39-inch QHD+ OLED display, an all-glass design and a new ridged finish called Hyper Optical Pattern which makes the handset’s rear less prone to fingerprints and easier to grip. This reminds me of OPPO F9 which kept on falling from my hand.
3D Face Unlock
This was seen on the iPhone X but Huawei claims that they have made it even better by including the ability to authenticate users by their digits. The 24MP front camera works alongside a dot projector, a TOF proximity sensor, a flood illuminator, and an IR camera to enable the Face Unlock.
Fast and reverse charging
OPPO F9 came with 5 min fast charging capability and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro juiced it up with a wireless reverse charge. Ideally, you can charge wireless gadgets by placing them on the back of the phone.
The Kirin 980
This is a powerful chipset on paper that allows for better performance and efficiency compared to Qualcomm’s top-tier processor, Snapdragon 845. The flagship device comes with a 6GB of RAM and 128GB which company provides that it offers improved speed and a boost in graphics.
Tri-cam system on the rear
The smartphone comes with a very unique square-shaped camera with sensors of three different focal lengths. It has a 20-megapixel camera for extremely wide shots, a 40-megapixel shooter with wide-angle lens, and one 8-megapixel telephoto shooter.
