India’s low-cost airline IndiGo is set to start cheap Nairobi-Mumbai flights that will cost as low as Sh. 26,500 for the economy class.
The 186 US dollar flights for the economy class will be way cheaper than what rivals such as Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways are currently charging for the same route.
On the Mumbai-Nairobi route, the airline has set the price at 179 US dollars which is equivalent to Sh. 25,525 for the economy class option.
At the same time, return tickets from Nairobi will go at a rate of 359 US dollars which is equivalent to Sh. 51,193.
Return flights from Mumbai to Nairobi will go at prices of 365 US dollars which is equivalent to Sh. 52,049.

“We are delighted to announce the launch of direct flights between Mumbai and Nairobi, a significant step towards strengthening the bilateral ties between India and Kenya,” Vinay Malhotra, the Head of Global Sales at IndiGo said.
A spot check on Emirates shows that tickets go for as high as Sh. 130,000 for the one way economy class option.
