How Dennis Itumbi cost Jacque Maribe her job at Citizen Tv

Jacque Maribe and Dennis Itumbi: Citizen Tv journalist Jacque Maribe may have lost her job at Royal Media Services station because of Dennis Itumbi.

This is according to a report that appeared on K24 Tv’s digital platform. Apparently, she quit the media station last week after she was asked to do so by the broadcaster’s top bosses.

K24 says that on July 3, Maribe had requested to be excused from work “over personal reasons”, only to be pictured in the company of Jubilee digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, who had been arrested on claims of authoring and circulating a “fake” letter alleging that four ministers were plotting to kill Deputy President William Ruto.

“The bosses felt that she had duped them into giving her time off work. Immediately after pictures of Maribe in the company of Itumbi at Muthaiga police cells went viral, one of the bosses called her on phone and asked her to either resign or face the sack,” K24 quotes their source.

“Of course, she chose to resign. That matter brought a lot of friction between Maribe and the bosses.”

It further reports as follows:

In October last year, Maribe was barred by the High Court from reporting or holding interviews at the S.K Macharia-owned media station.

The University of Nairobi alumnus is one of the suspects in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

The journalist’s ex-fiance, Jospeph Irungu, alias Jowie, who is the key suspect in the murder which happened in September last year, is behind bars as the case continues in court.

Following her resignation, it remains unclear what Maribe’s next move will be.

Bizna Kenya, though, is yet to verify the authenticity of this claim by K24 on Jacque Maribe and Dennis Itumbi.
