Jalang’o quits S.K Macharia’s Hot 96

Popular comedian Felix Oduor who is popularly known as Jalang’o has quit Hot 96.

The comedian is reportedly set to join K24’s Radio Milele.

In Kenya, musical chairs in the media are largely influenced by money. This means that Jalang’o will be moving to Milele based on a higher salary.

Co-Op post

The move is expected to affect the show he was hosting with Jeff Koinange at Hot 96.

Royal Media Services had hired the powerful duo of Jalang’o and Jeff in a bid to grow its ranking.

Last year Jalang’o quit Radio Maisha where ha partnered with Alex Mwakideu at Radio to join Jeff Koinange at Hot 96 FM. Jalas, who was crowned as the most popular radio personality in Kenya months ago, is in a list of many other presenters and radio employees that have been poached by Milele FM from Royal Media. Royal Media Services Head of Radio Citizen Joyce Gituro, Francis Luchivya and comedian Wilbroda are among those poached.

Over the past few months, media stations in Kenya have been engaging in a game of poaching, with Nation Media Group’s NTV coming out as the most affected.

The station has lost many of its key presenters key among them Nimrod Taabu, Jamila Mohammed, Pamela Asigi, and Linus Kaikai.
