JUJA MP IN SEX SCANDAL MEETS THE WOMAN HE ‘ASKED SEXUAL FAVOURS FROM’

The Star: JUJA MP Francis Munyua Waititu has met the woman who has accused him of sacking her after she declined his sexual advances.

The MP and his accuser are said to have agreed to settle the matter out of court after a meeting that lasted close to two hours at a city restaurant under the watchful eye of a mediation team comprising close associates of both parties.

Waititu, who has denied sending an offensive text message to Susan Wambui, met his accuser in a coffeehouse in the Thika Road Mall on Wednesday March 4.

Wambui arrived at the coffee house in advance, accompanied by a woman and a bespectacled man said to be an official of the Juja CDF committee.

The Star witnessed the encounter as the three, who were joined by a man on crutches, and the MP settled down for a discussion.

Moments later, they shifted to an adjacent restaurant, popular for its pizza.

At one point, the man in glasses, who seemed to be driving the agenda, was overheard speaking in Kikuyu, saying that even if the MP does not agree to their terms, they would leave him alone.

The same evening, the complainant, who told The Star that all she was seeking was justice after the humiliation by the MP, was spotted at the Ruiru police station, accompanied by a city lawyer, apparently with the intention of withdrawing the case.

After they failed to meet the Ruiru CID chief, they left a sworn affidavit indicating Wambui’s intention to withdraw the case.

There have also been allegations of money changing hands, but Wambui has denied the claims.

Wambui, in an earlier interview, told The Star she is not after money to drop the charges.

“I do not want Waititu’s money,” she stated categorically.

Yesterday, The Star failed to reach Wambui and the MP for comment. Wambui’s mobile phone was switched off all day while the MP did not answer his phone.

Police at Ruiru however maintained that Wambui was yet to officially withdraw her complaint until she physically appears before the investigators together with the MP.

Her complaint is filed under OB 43. Sources familiar with the investigations said the CID had completed their investigations but were yet to forward their findings to Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko after the complainant showed an interest to in having the matter settled out of court.

The police were investigating death threats and the offence of misuse of a mobile phone after Wambui reported that the MP had sent her an offensive sexual text message.
