Justin Muturi’s son, Brian Njoka, was robbed more than Sh. 720,800 by notorious ‘mchele gang’ while out at a club in Kericho. Mchele gang is a group of women who rob their victims through drugging and drink spiking.

The former National Assembly Speaker’s son told the Milimani law court senior Magistrate that he went out with some of his cousins and friends on August 22nd, 2019 to have a great time at a high-end joint in Kericho.

“I do recall that on August 22, 2019 at about 10:30 pm while on a visit to Kericho town with my mother, I went out with my friends to a club called Exclusive where we made merry as l settled my bills using my mobile phone valued at Sh. 100,000.” he said.

He recalls that they were approached by two unidentified women who joined their table without any invitation from his cousins or friends.

“At the club, while partying at some point l saw two women join my table but they left later. From then l do not know what happened as l left the premises the following day at 12:30 pm,” Njoka stated

The women who were part of the ‘Mchele gang’ spiked his drink with an unknown substance. They managed to wipe off all the money he had in all his bank accounts and also steal his Samsung Galaxy Note 9 which was then valued at Sh. 100,000.

“Within less than 12 hours, a whopping Sh. 720,800 had been transferred from my Standard Chartered Bank, CBA Bank, and my KCB bank account to Mpesa sent to an unknown phone number and Co-operative bank account. How this happened is still a mystery to me,” Brian told the court.

When Brian left the club, he went back to his hotel room and took a shower. Thereafter, he and his mother traveled back to Nairobi without visiting any police station in Kericho to report the missing mobile phone and money.
