Popular radio presenters Kamene Goro and Shaffie Weru have joined NRG Radio. The duo will be hosting a joint show in what is expected to be one of the most popular shows in the country.
The duo will be joined by DJ Pierra Makena in the show that will run on Fridays between 3 and 7 pm.
Kamene has rejoined NRG after losing her spot at the KISS Fm breakfast show. It will be the second time that Kamene will be working at NRG. She had left the station with her former co-host Andrew Kibe to join Radio Africa’s Kiss Fm.
She left Kiss Fm on January 27, 2023 under what was initially perceived as controversial circumstances. She was replaced by Sheila Kwamboka at the station.

Shaffie Weru on the other hand was fired from Radio Africa following pressure East African Breweries over a sensitive comment he had made during his show in March 2021. He left the station together with Dj Joe Mfalme.
Shaffie’s departure from Homeboyz Radio revealed the nearly Sh. 600,000 salary that he was earning after he wrote a demand letter to Radio Africa over his sacking.
It now remains to be seen how Kamene and Shaffie’s move to NRG Radio will impact the radio’s ratings and, or affect their former employer’s flagship station Kiss Fm.
The duo’ move to NRG comes barely a day after Kamene’s former co-host comedian Obinna announced that he was leaving Kiss Fm after working for a year.
