The KCPE 2023 Results have been released. The results were released on Thursday morning by education cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
The top pupil in the exams scored 428 out of the possible 500 points. 8,525 attained the score of 400 marks and above, 300 to 399 marks score recorded 352,782 children.
The release of the results marked the last time that the examinations were being conducted, following the country’s shift to the competency based curriculum. The exam started in 1985 and has concluded in 2023.
In the previous 2022 exams, the top pupil scored 432 marks out of the possible 509 marks. In that exam, 9,443 candidates scored 400 marks and above.
After the official announcement of the results, candidates can immediately get their results by sending their index number to SMS code 40054. The charges will be Sh. 25 per text message.

In the exams, some 1,415,325 pupils were registered for the exam. However, 1,406,557 candidates sat for the examinations. In the examinations, ten counties had a more significant male candidature than female.
