The 2023 KCPE results are out. The results that were released by the cabinet secretary for education Ezekiel Machogu saw a decline in the number of candidates who scored 400 and above marks.
The results also showed that 2,060 pupils who sat for the examinations scores between 0 and 99 marks. This was equal to 0.15 per cent of the total candidates who sat for the examinations.
8,523 candidates scored 400 marks and above. This was equal to 0.6 per cent of the total candidates. Candidates who scored between 300 and 399 were 352,782.
658,278 candidates scored between 200 and 299 marks. 383,025 candidates scored between 109 and 199 marks.
1,406,557 candidates sat for the examinations. In the examinations, ten counties had a more significant male candidature than female.

The top pupil in the exam scored 428 marks. In the previous 2022 exams, the top pupil scored 432 marks out of the possible 509 marks. In that exam, 9,443 candidates scored 400 marks and above.
After the official announcement of the results, candidates can immediately get their results by sending their index number to SMS code 40054. The charges will be Sh. 25 per text message.
