National Women’s Volleyball Defending Champions KCB are gearing up for enticing fixtures when the second leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league serves off on November 22 -24, 2024 at the Nyayo Stadium.
The bankers are expected to face rivals Kenya Pipeline on Friday 22 before battling Post Bank on Saturday 23 to qualify for the Kenya volleyball league. They will wrap up their outing when they take on detectives DCI on Sunday 24 in another riveting duel.
Speaking ahead of the fixtures during a training session in Nairobi on Wednesday, head coach Japheth Munala said: “We have an entertaining set of matches coming up this weekend and as KCB, we are ready to face everyone. The girls are highly motivated and can’t wait to be back on the court to showcase their skills. Everyone has been working hard in training, so we can expect a good show.”

Munala expects captain Edith Wisa, who missed the opening leg due to injury, to be fit enough to participate in the competition. Right Attacker Pauline Chemutai is a doubt for the second round of matches having sustained a knock on her knee during training.
Teenage sensation Marylene Terry and setter Faith Obeko are set to join KCB from Kwanthanze Secondary School to strengthen Munala’s firepower since key starter Esther Mutinda is out for the season.
“We have not played a league match this season. Everyone is eager to step on that court to compete. We participated in the Governor Mwalimu Kahiga Volleyball Tournament where we used the tourney to sharpen our claws and tick all our boxes ahead of the league fixtures. We are more than prepared to roar over the weekend,” noted libero Lincy Jeruto.
KCB did not play in the opening round of the league in Nyeri County after their opponents Deaf Volleyball failed to honor the match.
