Fired? Comedian Obinna leaves Kiss FM after working for a year

Media personality and comedian Oga Obinna has confirmed his departure from Kiss FM after working with the station for one year.

Obinna who refuted claims that he had been fired, disclosed that his contract with Radio Africa Group had ended and both parties had decided to end their relationship amicably.

“I’m no longer at Kiss. I have finished my contract… The experience has been beautiful and I have achieved my dream and did everything I wanted to do. And everything I do from now henceforth will be extra.” Obinna said during a press interview.

During the interview, Obinna expressed his gratitude to Radio Africa for giving him the opportunity to work with them for the past year.

He stated that he had achieved his dream and did everything he wanted to do while at the station.

He also expressed his appreciation for the freedom he had at Kiss FM, dressing the way he wanted and doing his thing on-air.

“If it’s a job, a cat a job it will be extra. I have driven that car I wanted to drive (apart from Range Rover Sport), lived in the houses I wanted, and worked in an organization I always wanted… I have achieved what I wanted to do and now we move…,” Obinna added.

Obinna also revealed that he was doing his clearance at Radio Africa Group before officially exiting the company. He noted that he had learnt a lot during his time at Kiss FM and that he had enjoyed the good vibes at the station.

The comedian went on to describe his co-hosts, Kamene Goro and Jalang’o, who had also left the station in the recent past, as amazing ladies who he would miss.

The comedian turned presenter did not disclose his next move, but assured his fans to expect more of him traveling and being on the ground.

Obinna joined Kiss FM after Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwour, popularly known as Jalang’o, exited the media industry for politics in February last year.

The comedian had previously worked with Kwambox before joining Kiss FM. He is well-known for his comedy skits on social media and his radio show at Kiss FM.

Despite leaving the station, Obinna remains a household name in the Kenyan entertainment industry, and his fans eagerly await his next move.
