List of universities, colleges operating illegally in Kenya

The Commission for University Education (CUE) has released a list of higher education institutions that are operating without the grant of authority.

The commission, in a notice published on My Gov on Tuesday, March 11, directed the institutions to comply, warning that the certificates they issue will not be recognized in Kenya.

“For the avoidance of doubt, any institution operating as a university or degree awarding and which does not appear on the Commission list of approved institutions is illegal, and their degree qualifications will not be recognized in Kenya. The public is being requested to report any suspicious institutions to the commission. All information received will be handled in strict confidence,” the notice read.

15. Bradegate International University (The East African University) in Nyeri
