Prominent businesswoman Lizzie Muthoni Wanyoike is dead. Muthoni died on Sunday January 14, 2024.

Lizzie was born in 1951. She would have celebrated her 73rd birthday this year. Reports say that Lizzie succumbed to illness.

She was the founder of the NIBS Technical College and the Emory Hotel. Her latest venture was the founding of her preparatory school which is known as the Lizzie Wanyoike Preparatory School.

In a previous interview, Lizzie Muthoni Wanyoike recalled how she painstakingly founded her college.

“NIBS was registered in 1999. I pulled out the money I had saved for about 20 years and also took a bank loan. I also sold a house I had put up and used the money to top up on the starting capital,” she said.

“I remember through the years I saved, my late husband had been very supportive financially, which enabled me to save my salary and also invest in some very cheap plots that later became prime parcels of land. Proceeds from these plots were a major capital boost when NIBS started operating.”
