Faith Odhiambo is the 51st president of the Law Society of Kenya after succeeding Eric Theuri, who served from 2022 to 2024.
She is only the second woman to lead the LSK, after former Defence CS Rachel Omamo, who held the position from 2001 to 2003.
Since taking office, she has transformed LSK into a force to reckon with, and much more is to be expected from her as her term ends in 2026.
She was very active during the 2024 Finance Bill protests, working hard round the clock to oversee the freedom of protestors who were illegally taken and held incommunicado.
Very little is known of her background. Faith Odhiambo is a Law graduate, holding an LLB (Hons) from the Catholic University of East Africa. She also holds a diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
She also earned an LLM (Hons) in International Commercial Law with European Law from the University of Kent in the UK. Currently, the bold woman is pursuing her PhD at the University of Nairobi.
Her PhD research revolves around competition law, consumer protection law, telecommunications law, banking law, financial services, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.
“When considering my PhD subject, I saw it crucial to identify a way to consolidate these 3 areas of law, which in my view form a huge opportunity that has not been effectively exploited in the Kenyan market,” she said.
“My PhD is therefore on Competition in the Mobile Financial Services Sector. Previously, I have contributed to a lot of work in the development of a legal framework on mobile money and advancement of competition law in Kenya.”
Furthermore, Faith Odhiambo is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in UK (MCIArb) and a Member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK). She is also multi-lingual, with proficiency in Italian, French and Arabic.

Faith is also a partner at Ombok and Owuor LLB Advocates and a consulting partner at MMA Advocates. She is also affiliated with the University of Nairobi where she has previously served as a lecturer at the University of Nairobi School of Law in Parklands.
