Cabinet Secretary for Education under the Uhuru administration George Magoha has given a set of conditions under which he will be willing to work with the former Deputy President, William Ruto.
Speaking while inspecting the progress of CBC classrooms at Karen C in Nairobi, Magoha has stated that he would be willing to accept a job offer if presented, so long as their visions for the education sector in the country aligned.
Ruto’s willingness to allow CS Magoha to execute his duties capably with no interference would also be an incentive for him to take up the job. Magoha clarified that he was not looking for a job in Ruto’s administration.
He maintained that he would leave office once the new administration takes over.
“I am not looking for a job. You can take that to the bank. So nobody should mistake me that I am completing this job to be seen that I want a job.” He reassured.
George Magoha says that he has created a bond with the students during his tenure as the Education Cabinet Secretary.
“But if in his wisdom the President-elect thought that I would even be half worthy of being considered, we would have a conversation because I have now connected with the poor children.” He said.
“If we are thinking in the same direction and he gives me the support that I require which would mean I do things the way he wants and not any other person; if it is God’s will then I will say yes,” Magoha concluded.

Earlier on, Magoha had requested whichever administration would come next to allow him extra time to oversee the completion of CBC classrooms which are still under construction.
He argued that the completion of the project would allow a smooth transition under his capable hands.
“We intend to complete most classrooms by election time, should there be a small balance, since am not a politician, and you can judge me on that, only God knows who will be the president, I don’t know and whoever comes in will be my Commander in chief. I hope that before that person comes in he should allow me to finish the remaining classrooms,” Magoha stated.
