Maina Kageni to quit Classic. Reveals new business he’s starting in US

Celebrated radio presenter Maina Kageni is set to quit Classic 105 in the year 2022. The radio presenter said that his departure from Classic will mark the end of his illustrious radio career.

After quitting Classic, Maina Kageni is planning to launch a series of business ventures, including one in Miamia Florida, United States. He made this revelation to his co-host Mwalimu King’angi during the Morning show on Classic 105.

“Come next year I am done. I am retiring from this job, I plan on running a club in Miami,” he said. He also revealed that he owns a condo in the US which he bought a few years ago, and where he will be living.

“I will be living in my condor. I bought it kitambo. I thought we talked about this and both of us after retiring?” he told Kinga’ngi alias Churchill.

The radio presenter has earned his stripes as one of the finest radio presenters to have graced Kenya’s radio industry. he started his career at Nation FM, from where he was poached by Radio Africa with a starting salary of Sh. 380,000 per month. Kageni has stayed put at Radio Africa, only switching from Kiss FM where he hosted the evening drive show with fellow veteran presenter Cess Mutungi, to Classic FM where he teamed up with Churchill Ndambuki to host the breakfast show.

Beyond his radio career, Kageni has reportedly invested heavily in real estate and is said to own multiple properties in the United Kingdom and the United States. He is also one of the richest and highest paid radio presenters in the country with a monthly Radio Africa salary that is estimated to be in the region of Sh. 1.5 million to Sh. 2 million per month.
