The week has been bustling with activity at high schools, as parents accompanied by their children and family members flocked in for Form 1 admission.
This marks the admission of the last cohort that took the KCPE exams, and they will be the fortunate ones to sit the last KCSE examination.
Maina Wachira, a nominated MCA in the Uasin Gishu county assembly decided to mark admission day in style. He had previously promised to treat his son, Erastus, to a plane ride had he scored 400 marks and above in KCSE.
Erastus surpassed his father’s expectations by scoring an impressive 403 marks. In keeping with his promise, Maina Wachira booked a Jambojet flight for his son to travel to school.
“I promised my son a flight if he got above 400 marks in the KCPE examination. He got 403 and today I fulfilled my promise.”

The father and son took a flight that landed near the Kabianga High School grounds. Throughout the journey, Erastus couldn’t contain his amazement and excitement, wearing a constant smile on his face.
“I wish you well in your academics. I promised, I have delivered. It’s up to you now to do your part,” the MCA told his son.
Maina Wachira made another promise to his son, flight to Dubai or China if he worked hard in school.
