A major power outage hit Nairobi, Coast and Mount Kenya regions earl on Monday. According to Kenya Power, this occurred due to a technical fault that hit the Ndenderu Nairobi North Substation.
This technical fault effectively cut off electricity supplies from Olkaria geothermal fields, occasioning the major blackout.
Kenya Power General Manager for Network Management Daniel Tare said technical teams were battling to restore electricity supply to the affected areas.
“We regret any inconvenience caused by the outage,” Mr Tare said in a statement.
