Little is known about Martha Karua’s family. This is largely because she has successfully managed to keep her family affairs private.
However, the decorated senior counsel who was former prime minister Raila Odinga’s running mate in the August 9 General Elections has a “son” who works in the media.
Martha Karua’s “son” is now working at TV47 as a Tv presenter. TV47 is owned by local billionaire Simon Gicharu. He was previously working for the Standard Media Group’s KTN as a reporter. The lad, George Maringa, is however not Martha’s biological son.
He is the biological son of a lady called Lucy Maringa who Martha refers to as her sister. Maringa joined the media house in 2017 as an intern.
He holds a Degree in Mass Communication from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He is also an Alumnus / Fellow of Finland’s Foreign Correspondents’ Programme.
Maringa also worked for the African Virtual University (AVU) in various capacities within the Educational Technology and Learning Resources (ET&LR) Unit.
