“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 26 (1) and (3) of the State Corporations Act, I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces of the Republic of Kenya appoint…to be members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from October 14, 2019,” read part of the notice.

Abonyo’s appointment comes three months after his wife Joyce Laboso died of cancer aged 58 at the Nairobi Hospital. She died while still serving as the Bomet Governor.

The State Corporation Advisory Committee mandate is to advise the Government on all matters about the general administration of State Corporation.

Wambui served in the National Assembly from 2013 to 2017.
