MultiChoice has increased the monthly cost of DSTV and GoTV packages in Kenya. Following the increase, Kenyans who use the two paid-television platforms will have to dig deeper into their pockets starting from April 1, 2024.
Whereas MultiChoice had previously blamed increases in packages prices on the weakening of the Kenya shilling, the current hike comes at a time when the local currency is on an upward trend against the US dollar.
In some packages, users will now pay higher by as much as Sh. 600. For instance, the monthly cost for DStv Premium package will increase to Sh. 10,500 from Sh. 9,900 effective April 1.
At the same time, the monthly cost of Compact Plus package will hit Sh. 6,500 up from Sh. 6,200 while the Family package will now cost Sh. 2,000 up from the current Sh. 1,850.
At the same time, the Compact package will now cost Sh. 3,700 per month from Sh. 3,500 while users of DStv Lite will pay Sh. 700 from Sh. 600.

On GoTV, the Supa Package has been adjusted upwards to Sh. 1,999 from Sh. 1,899. The costliest package on GoTV, Supa Plus, will now cost Sh. 3,700 up from Sh. 3,500 monthly fee. GoTV Lite will now cost Sh. 220 up from Sh. 199, GoTV Value.
