Moses Kuria concedes defeat in Kiambu Governor race

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has conceded defeat in the Kiambu Governor race.

The controversial member of parliament said that he had enjoyed his time in elective politics, but would now be heading back to the private sector.

“I enjoyed every minute of my 8 years in elective politics. Back to the private sector. Happily,” said Kuria.

He had previously vowed to quit elective politics if he lost his bid for Kiambu Governor.

“In the unlikely event I’m not elected, you will not see me in politics again let alone seeking to be nominated. There is life beyond politics,” Kuria had said in a previous Facebook post on July 12, 2022.

Kuria was against a strong force of UDA’s Kimani Wamatangi, former Governor William Kabogo, and Jubilee’s James Nyoro.

There were signs that the MP would perform poorly in the weeks to the elections. He had significantly scaled down his campaigns. He was contesting on his political party ticket, Chama Cha Kazi.
