Most admired brands: Bidco, Safaricom named top brands in Kenya

Most admired brands: The 2019 list of the most admired brands in Africa has been released.

The list also contains some of the most admired brands in Kenya. Locally, the list has been led by telecommunications firm, Safaricom. Interestingly, fast-rising consumer goods manufacturer Bidco Africa has made it to the top five most admired brands in the country. Bidco was ranked at number five in the list.

The list ranked the best brands as follows:

1). Safaricom

2). Tusker (East Africa Breweries)

3). Kenya Airways

4). Citizen TV

5). Bidco Africa.

In Africa, Safaricom was ranked as the fourteenth most admired brand.

In the category that included both locally made and non-locally made brands, the top ranked brand in kenya was Coca-Cola from the United States of America. It was followed closely by Safaricom. This list was as follows:

1). Coca Cola

2). Safaricom

3). Samsung

4). Tusker

5). Airtel

6). Apple

7). Toyota

8). Guiness

9). Colgate

10). Nike.

In the financial category, the Kenya Commercial Bank was ranked as the most admired financial brand in the country. In the media category, Citizen was ranked as the top brand. This latest survey was conducted by Geopoll and Nairobi Securities Exchange. In overall countries in Africa, Kenya came second, tying with Nigeria. This overall category for countries with best brands was led by South Africa.

Geopoll used sophisticated mobile survey platforms and its proprietary access to a database of over 250 million respondents in emerging markets around the globe to identify the most admired brands in Africa. The rankings are based on a Pan-African survey covering 25 countries that represent 80 per cent of Africa’s population and 75 per cent of the continent’s GDP conducted by GeoPoll, Kantar and Brand Leadership.
