Most Watched TV Stations in Kenya: The Communications Authority of Kenya has released it’s latest data showing the most watched television stations in the country.
The data report dubbed Audience Measurement and Industry Trends shows that the Royal Media Services is dominating the television market with its two stations Citizen Tv and Inooro Tv taking two positions in the top three.
The data report shows that Citizen Tv leads the pack of the most watched TV stations in Kenya with 48 per cent, followed by KTN Home with a distant 11.9 per cent. Inooro Tv takes the third position with 10.4 per cent.

NTV, which is owned by the Nation Media Group takes thr fourth position with 10.1 per cent. NTV previously occupied position three. It was dislodged from by Inooro.
The entry of Inooro TV to the prestigious top three positions shows how vernacular television stations have gained popularity.
However, apart from targeting a niche market, content seems to be playing a critical role. This is because Inooro’s rival station Kameme Tv is a distant nine with just 3 per cent. Other Kikuyu stations such as Mt. Kenya Tv and Njata Tv did not make the top ten cut.
KTN News was ranked fifth with 9.9 per cent, K24 TV sixth with 6 per cent, KBC seventh with 3.3 per cent, Ebru TV eight with 3.1 per cent and Switch Tv tenth with 2.9 per cent.
Citizen TV is also dominating on YouTube. A spot check shows that Citizen attracts over 40,000 viewers at any one minute during its live news stream on YouTube, compared to KBC and K24 which barely attract 1,000 viewers.
