Fridah Muriungi had to leave her son in Kenya in 2021 when he was just 2 months old. This was the hardest decision that the UK-based nurse has had to make in her life.
Ms. Muriungi relocated to the UK in search of greener pastures. She says that she had to leave her son with her mother in Meru.
She now works as a registered nurse at a health facility.
“I came to work in the UK as a registered nurse. It was the most difficult decision I ever made,” she explained.

Fate had better plans for Muriungi and her son. The two were reunited at Heathrow Airport after almost 2 years.
Fridah Muriungi facilitated the flight to land in the UK on Valentine’s day to make it a special occasion. It was an emotional reunion for the mother and her son.
“I thank God. After 1 year and 8 months, I was able to bring him on Valentines to live with me and my partner in the UK. Glory to God,” Ms.Muriungi wrote.
