Ex-Inooro presenter Muthoni wa Mukiri on why she closed her Hair Hub business

Former Inooro TV news presenter Muthoni wa Mukiri ventured into the Hair Hub business at the peak of the pandemic in 2020. In this, she specialized in selling high-quality wigs and various retail hair products.

However, 3 years down the line, she resorted to closing the business. She is now an award-winning life & mindset coach, and she regularly uploads videos on her YouTube channel.

In a conversation with Victor Amadalla, Muthoni wa Mukiiri explained that she faced challenges balancing her career, business, and societal roles, including motherhood.

She had too much on her plate, so she formulated a way she would restructure all her programs. This led to her closing down her hair business.

“I tried balancing but I couldn’t because now I am a full-time life coach, a mother and a wife. I realized one thing had to suffer, plus being a wife and a mother is important to me. Something had to give, and the hair business gave in,” she said.

The sassy news presenter said her fans motivated her to start Mukiri Hair Hub. In a previous interview, she explained that she believed it was easy for small businesses to succeed in a market controlled by big brands.

“I have been in this business for a long time. Mukiri Hair Hub was inspired by my fans who ask me where they can get the best hair and this prompted me to research and find a solution,” she said.

“Millions and millions of women have different tastes for hair products and thus innovators of women’s products just need to be creative and design products that attract the market.”
