Radio Africa tally of Form 34Bs projects Ruto has defeated Raila

Radio Africa’s independent tally of Form 34Bs  projects that Deputy President William Ruto has defeated Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in the presidential contest.

Radio Africa, the media company that owns the Star newspaper, Kiss Fm, and Classic Fm, has a tally that by Sunday morning had Dr. Ruto ahead with 50.36 per cent, follow by Raila with 48.8 per cent.

“A Radio Africa tally of all Form 34Bs (provisional and yet to be fully verified by the IEBC) shows that Ruto received 50.36 percent of the vote compared to 48.88 percent for Raila,” Radio Africa said in a report.

“The tally shows Ruto has won 126 constituencies with 7,152,655 votes while Raila has taken 146 constituencies with 6,942,708 votes with 18 constituencies pending (excluding diaspora and prisons) – a difference of 209,947 votes.”

At the time this tally was released, Radio Africa said that it was updating the final tally of the remaining 49 polling stations with 34, 815 outstanding votes.

Radio Africa was however quick to point out that the tally was independent and only the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission had the mandate to declare the winner of the presidential contest as per the laws of Kenya.
