Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli is the least paid of all the East African presidents. Al the Presidents have campaigned on the platform of reducing the wage bill while most have promised to cut their salaries but few have lived to their promises. But the no-nonsense leader shocked many when he revealed on national television that he earns TSh9 million, an equivalent of KSh415,804.
This has put other leaders on the spot light on how much they take home every month in salary. Below is how much each of the leaders earn. President Yoweri Museveni: KSh1.5 million (UGSh53,996,579 OR 14,978.65 USD) John Magufuli KSh415,804 (Tsh. 9 million OR 4026.87 USD).
Paul Kagame KSh 697, 900 (6,3618 USD) Uhuru Kenyatta KSh1.4 million (13,539.67 USD).
Uganda President Yoweri Museveni came into power in 1986, Rwanda President Paul Kagame assumed office in 2000 while Uhuru Kenyatta took office in 2013. Magufuli came into power in November 2015 and has been making radical and controversial decisions. on October 3 to the Association of Local Authorities and insisted on the importance of fight for a corrupt free Tanzania.
