Richest PS in Kenya: Permanent Secretaries in the current government are worth hundreds of millions. At one point in 2013, the PSs were worth Sh. 1.7 billion, with the then Transport PS Wilson Irungu leading the pack as the richest PS in Kenya with a net worth of Sh. 374 million. Back then, Land PS Aidah Munano had the least wealth at Sh. 6.2 million.
This trend of multi million rich PSs came to light when documents tabled in parliament revealed that the newly appointed PSs are worth tens of millions. The richest among the newly sworn in PSs is the Public Service and Gender Mary Wanjira Kimonye who said she is worth some Sh. 273.8 million.

She also said that out of her huge financial fortune, Sh. 31.1 million comprised liabilities while Sh. 242.8 million was net wealth.
Enosh Onyango Momanyi, the new principal secretary for Physical Planning, revealed that he is worth some Sh. 17.8 million.
Julius Jwan the new PS for Vocational and Technical Training put his wealth at some Sh. 80.3 million. Ambassador Simon Nabukwesi who is now the PS for University Education and Research declared Sh. 76 million.
