Robert Alai has claimed that the CID boss has resolved not to take him to court until Monday after allegedly talking to Tony Gichuru! Mr. Alai, through his tweeter handle made the allegation on Friday morning: He said: “Detention without trial. Alai will not be taken to court today. CID boss wants him held till Monday after talking to Tony Gichuru.”
However, from the perspective of the tweet, it was not clear if Robert Alai had posted the tweet himself or an acquaintance had posted it on his behalf.
Robert Alai was arrested yesterday after presenting himself at the CID headquarters in Nairobi for questioning. He was then arrested and allegedly taken to Muthaiga Police Station. Today, he was expected to be arraigned at a Kiambu court! The arrest followed allegations Robert Alai had made regarding businessman Tony Gichuru, who is the husband of CITIZEN TV presenter Julie Gichuru.
Robert Alai had alleged that Mr. Gichuru was behind the Lang’ata playground land grab and was also involved in a series of other land grabbing cases in Ruai. This provoked Julie Gichuru who termed the Robert Alai’s allegations as online terrorism, and vowed to sue him in order to seek justice and put a stop to Robert Alai’s sensational online allegations.
One thing Robert Alai should know is that you cannot be the voice of the poor when you are voiceless
